Circle Lake in Rice County, Minnesota

This lake has 8 Layers or 15 Layers for HD Version

Circle Lake is a fertile, 838-acre shallow basin lake located northeast of Shieldsville, reaching a maximum depth of 14 feet. The lake is uniquely characterized by its circular shape and three prominent islands, one of which is a designated Aquatic Management Area. Known as a productive fishery, it is a local favorite for Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Bluegill. While the lake faced a significant winterkill in 2022/23, vigorous restocking efforts are underway to restore its vibrant aquatic ecosystem for future generations of anglers

The surrounding Rice County landscape offers a blend of recreational and historical depth. Circle Lake Park, located along the shoreline, provides public access with a boat launch and fishing pier. Intriguingly, the lake's largest island once hosted a golf course back in 1924 and remains a site of local fascination today. Nearby Lonsdale and Faribault offer additional cultural attractions, including the Rice County Historical Society Museum, while the Cannon River wilderness provides ample opportunities for hiking and wildlife spotting

This handcrafted 3D wooden map captures the intricate shoreline and island features of Circle Lake with exceptional detail. The natural wood top layer contrasts beautifully against the hand-stained blue gradient of the water layers, highlighting the lake's shallow but expansive bathymetry. It serves as a perfect commemorative piece for a lakeside home or a rustic office, preserving the charm of this Minnesota gem in a sophisticated, multi-layered design. Each map is built to inspire memories of quiet mornings on the water
