Howe Island on the St. Lawrence River, Ontario & New York

This lake has 8 Layers or 15 Layers for HD Version

Howe Island is the second largest of the Thousand Islands, a 7,662-acre island stretching 8 miles long and 3 miles wide in the St. Lawrence River at the point where it flows northeast out of Lake Ontario. The surrounding river channel plunges to a maximum depth of 250 feet, and its waters teem with world-class Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Muskellunge, Northern Pike, Walleye, Yellow Perch, and Panfish that draw anglers from across North America. The Bateau Channel flows to the island's north along the Ontario mainland, while the main St. Lawrence shipping channel runs along its southern shore toward New York.

Howe Island sits at the heart of the Thousand Islands — one of the most iconic and storied waterway regions on the continent — where more than 1,800 granite islands straddle the US-Canada border between Kingston, Ontario and the New York shoreline. The area is home to Thousand Islands National Park, the legendary Boldt Castle on Heart Island, and the historic Thousand Islands International Bridge, with the charming communities of Kingston and Gananoque, Ontario and Cape Vincent and Clayton, New York all within easy reach by water.

A laser-cut wooden map of Howe Island and the St. Lawrence River makes a breathtaking and truly one-of-a-kind piece of wall art that no other map can replicate. The natural wood top layer captures the dramatic outlines of Howe Island and the surrounding Thousand Islands archipelago across both the Ontario and New York shores, while the light-to-dark blue gradient layers convey the river's remarkable depth and power. A handcrafted statement piece and perfect gift for anyone with deep ties to this magnificent international waterway.

The difference between standard and HD maps is the number of layers. Standard maps have 1 land layer and 7 water layers. The HD lake maps have 1 land layer and 14 water layers. So twice the detail. The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.

Cribbage Boards - 10"x14" - Your choice of Maple or Cherry wood, 2 or 3 runs, and your choice of peg colors.
