Leora, Dodo & Rose Lakes in St. Louis County, Minnesota

This lake has 8 Layers or 15 Layers for HD Version

Leora, Dodo, and Rose Lakes are three pristine Northwoods lakes nestled near Cotton in St. Louis County, Minnesota, east of Highway 53. Leora, also locally known as Elora, is the largest of the trio at 263 acres with a maximum depth of 35 feet, managed primarily for Walleye and Largemouth Bass with stocking every even year — Walleye abundance surveys show 94% of adult fish exceeding quality size of 15 inches. Dodo Lake punches well above its 92-acre size with a surprising maximum depth of 53 feet, holding Northern Pike, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, and Yellow Perch. Rose Lake rounds out the trio at 59 acres and 31 feet deep, adding to the rich and varied fishery character that makes this quiet corner of St. Louis County a beloved local destination.

Located in the boreal lake country of northern St. Louis County, these three lakes sit within easy reach of Duluth via Highway 53 and are surrounded by the forests and wetlands of the greater Iron Range corridor. The Cotton area's remote, undeveloped character sets it apart from the busier resort lakes to the south, drawing anglers, paddlers, and cabin owners who value solitude and wild Northwoods scenery. The nearby communities of Duluth, Virginia, and Eveleth provide access to dining, supplies, and services without sacrificing the feeling of true lake country escape.

A laser-cut wooden map capturing all three lakes — Leora, Dodo, and Rose — makes a one-of-a-kind piece of wall art for any St. Louis County cabin, Northwoods retreat, or northern Minnesota lake home. The natural wood top layer traces the distinct shorelines of all three lakes in beautiful detail, while the light-to-dark blue gradient layers bring their varying depths and wild character to life. A handcrafted gift perfectly suited for Cotton-area lake lovers, Northwoods anglers, and anyone who treasures this quiet and storied corner of Minnesota's lake country.

The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.
