Small bait, big potential! Spikes are live fly larvae commonly used by ice anglers and panfish fishermen looking for a compact, natural bait presentation. Their small size makes them ideal for targeting fish that prefer a smaller offering, especially when the bite is light and a subtle presentation can make a difference.
Perfect for ice fishing and open-water fishing alike, spikes can be fished individually or in multiples on a small hook or ice-fishing jig. Pair them with your favorite panfish setup to target bluegill, crappie, perch, and other fish that feed on small aquatic insects and larvae.
Whether you're heading out for a day on the ice or fishing your favorite local lake, spikes are a useful addition to your live-bait selection. Stop by Tom’s Bait & Tackle and get stocked up for your next trip!
